Dates with 1610!Miles and 42!Miles

So i made this at 3 am, brain half asleep, half dead, so this hasn’t and won’t be proofread 😔🤚🏻 but I still hope you enjoy EHE

1610!Miles

Now during the first dates, he’ll want to be cautious once he had actually mustered the guts to ask you out

So he’ll be sticking with the classics like asking you out to dinner, watch a movie, etc.

But as time goes by after yall started to date

He’s bound to spice it up because he already knows about your faves a lot and just wants to make you the happiest in the world

Midnight dates

I can see him just visiting your room after he’s done with Spiderman duties and asks you out on a spontaneous date because he’s missed you

“Hey there sunflower, wanna go grab some food and head up to the—“ “Miles you don’t even have to ask.”

So he brings you to like some rooftop by swinging the two of you while you held on to the paperbags of some food you guys bought

And the two of you just chill, while he sketches the scenic view (but most likely has you in it)

Dates with his art

What I mean by this is that there can be dates where he asks you to come by his place and tells you to sit down

Don’t ask just do it

Spends a good hour drawing you on his sketchbook

In reference to the sunflower nickname, whenever he draws you he always puts a single sunflower on your hair 🩵 boy’s a sucker for symbolism

During these tho he likes to take pics of you on his phone without you knowing

Example is the one time he asks you to sit by his window sill and tells you to look out the window, he sneaks about a thousand pictures of you in that angle

Bonus headcannon: I see Miles having a dog, and the both of you treat it as your child. Sometimes you’d take turns with bringing your furry child home, and it has become one of Miles’ excuses to see you

Now this one is a lot more confident, why? Because I see this guy observing you before he asks you out

Would do heavy research so he doesn’t fuck up

Like asking your friends abt what you like or simply watching you from a distance

So from the get go, his dates are already inclined to your preferences

I see this Miles being more of a sentimental or chill type of guy

Like the both of you cuddled up in your bed and his arm wrapped around your shoulder while he kisses the side of your head

He stays there with you in his arms until Uncle Aaron is bugging him for the nth time for missions as Prowler

And you see the bajillion drawings of you that he made, and he managed to make you look so pretty that it may have increased your self esteem a bit bc was this how he actually saw you? like damn

So once he showed you it was like some weight being lifted off from his shoulder

His “date with his art” would now consist of the both of you going to some place that inspires him

He makes you pose, this boy would instruct you on how to do that; the posing, where your hands should be, your facial expression, etc

He’s gonna make you his little model

Bonus headcannon: would have a cat in contrast with 1610!Miles. A black cat specifically. He would name it after some name that would be so close to yours, and he’s overly clingy to it (not as much as he is with you tho) the cat also loves you of course (but seemingly antisocial to everyone else) (its very 42!Miles behavior)

Anon, he fits the role of an Ace Attorney Prosecutor PERFECTLY, and he would be SUCH AN ANNOYING BITCH TO PLAY AGAISNT LOL We love Ace Attorney very much, so we also joke about Riddle being a prosecutor from time to time. I have at least one sketch related to this topic but we posted it on ko-fi.

Our go-to is usually to give Ace the Attorney role, not only because of his name, but also because him being confrontational with Riddle is always a fun thing to imagine.

Imagine Riddle’s angry sprites as a prosecutor… he’s even worse than some of the Von Karmas… at least he doesn’t use a whip I guess lol

They’re intriguing! It’s always interesting when someone who isn’t Malleus gets Sebek’s kind-of-sort-of-approval (a very important achievement I know), and Jamil somehow managed to do it. Maybe it’s because he managed to sit through Sebek’s hours-long rant about Malleus’ grateness in that one vignette, but it honestly shows just how interestingly their personalities play based off each other. Jamil is constantly done with everyone’s bs, but he’s unfrotunately tolerant enough to take a passive role and listen. But he is also enough of a tease to enjoy Sebek’s “cute” and silly moments, like when he watched him almost fight a goat during the Glorious Masquerade event. So I feel like to him Sebek would be a massive pain in the ass (and let’s be honest, with Jamil – who isn’t?), but also have his surprisingly endearing moments.

But this is based on their interactions in the Glorious Masquerade event + that one vignette in which Jamil promised to listen to Sebek’s odes for Malleus lol

The thought has never occurred to me because to be honest, just like Silver, I never question anything that Lilia does lol

But I can picture some people from the NRC being confused about Lilia and Malleus’ relationship, because they’re definitely closer than just being friends… so while I’m not sure if they would think about them as a married couple(or who should get married), some people definitely think they’re banging lol

And Silver is very chill about it… if only these people knew the whole truth about Lilia’s relationship with both Silver and Malleus… marriage is the last thing that would come to their mind lol

Been re-watching Wayside all day, which has inevitably led me back to being stupid over Todd and Louis, so here's some random stuff I created 🙏

Starting off with this silly little mood board :> It's basically a right of passage for all my ships to have one, so of course they needed one. It's simple, not much to say. I had fun making it!

Another mood board!! But this one is going for a more 'date night' vibe :D Louis gives off big 2000s older brother vibes (to me at least) and I just couldn't see him taking Todd to some fancy restaurant for a date. Instead, it seemed more his speed to get some snacks and slushies at the gas station then just driving around town doing silly shit like going to the arcade and hanging out at the park. Of course ending the night back at his place with more snacks and video games/movies. I think that would be just so much more romantic and fun than a sit down dinner ˙˚ʚ(´◡`)ɞ˚˙

One of the edits I made today (≧∇≦)/ Specifically I used Todd falls in Love and The Elevator. I really enjoy TFIL, mostly cause I like imaging Todd falling in love with Louis, not Ms. Jewels. 🤭 Louis seems like the kind of guy that a lot of students at Wayside have a crush on, and he politely pretends not to notice to avoid awkwardness. Of course with Todd, he probably doesn't even realize the boy is crushing on him till it's spelled out for him, since it's not a 'Todd' thing to do lmao. The edit isn't anything special, I just wanted Todd to be staring lovingly at Louis and fullfil my funny little idea ≧﹏≦

Ok this one took quite a bit of time for obvious reasons. But I'm super pleased with how it came out! Anyways, Maurecia has always made me think of Sarah from TAWOG, and honestly I could totally see her being a Fujoshi. I once had a thought "What if instead of shipping herself with Todd, she shipped Todd and Louis" and it's been stuck in my head ever since.

So a bit of a lore drop, back in middle school I was SUPER obsessed with Billdip. It wasn't my first yaoi ship but it was the first one I became infatuated with. It was my lock screen and background. I talked about with all my friends. I was constantly reading it in class and making gacha life videos with them. It was bad. So that's the kind of girl I see Maurecia being. She has no subtly liking Todd and would have none whatsoever over them. She would always be drawing them, getting excited when they interact, pretty much just being the like the edit. Every episode where she's pining over Todd is instead being about her loosing it over Todd and Louis. Lots of funny scenario for Todd to be embarrassed and proclaim he doesn't like Louis (totally does) and Louis being totally unaware (or better, aware and not knowing how to react at being shipped with a student ͡≖ ل͜ ͡≖) UGH this makes so stupid. I'm currently kicking my feet back and forth. Need to write this.

Of course, having Maurecia be in love with Todd and getting possessive over him when Louis comes near (either because of a misunderstanding or Todd genuinely having a crush on him) is great too. For this one I don't really see Louis reciprocating because him just having to explain to Maurecia that no, he doesn't want Todd is super funny. Plus her not believeing him. Or just him being super confused as to the sudden hostility from her. 😮‍💨

And these are all the random stuff I made plus my thoughts. Feels good to write them out 🙏 definitely hoping to commission something for them soon, I need fan art of them 😔

There’s a scene where Julian and Miles are playing darts at the very end and it’s like… the tone of the scene is “we did it, hurray for the power of friendship! :)” which is a big contribution to the sense of glibness at least to me.

Like, here is part of the final scene of Extreme Measures (transcript from Chakoteya), in case you don’t remember it:

BASHIR: We'll never know now, will we. But one thing's for sure. Sloan knew he had the perfect bait, that I wouldn't be able to resist it. There was one thing he failed to consider.

O'BRIEN: What's that?

BASHIR: You. To Miles Edward O'Brien.

O'BRIEN: To friendship. I'd better get home. Keiko's holding dinner for me.

BASHIR: This late?

O'BRIEN: Yeah, well, she's a hell of a woman.

BASHIR: That's why you love her.

O'BRIEN: That's right. That's why I love her. You want to come?

BASHIR: Sure.

To me there is a def a tonal dissonance here, compared to the topics of torture and genocide that the episode starts off grappling with. And they clearly DO have a whole scene in which they could have let Julian have SOME kind of reaction to these events, and instead the powers that be chose to show him playing darts and toasting friendship. That last scene does not really give off PTSD and depression vibes, nor bottled up anger, nor anything like the regret for something evil but “necessary” like the ITPM monologue, nor even vibes of revenge being sweet, or anything interesting. It really just ends like yaaay, we did it, we are two best buds who just had a fun little inception adventure, wheeee, bullseye! 😔

Everything you’ve described is how I tend to write fic about Extreme Measures Julian, because that is exactly what WOULD HAVE BEEN compelling to me, BUT the episode itself really misses the mark. It sets some of this stuff up in the opening scene (+/- some of the reasonable interpretations one can draw from other eps, such as Julian having ptsd/depression) but then the ep instead becomes weirdly focused primarily on the Miles and Julian friendship (that “you like me more” scene, the darts at the end but now instead of angry and disillusioned he is just having a pretty good time…), at the expense of allowing the dark choices they’re making to have any moral or emotional weight at all to them.

It doesn’t even get to really be about Julian being corrupted, which might have also been fun, because Miles was the one to suggest the initial plan to catch a s31 agent and Miles was the one to suggest going into his mind… and I did not really buy the thing at the end Julian being so easily distracted while in Sloan’s office. Any potential dark obsession with destroying s31 that was set up in the opening scene is completely undercut by the final scene where Julian’s just like shrug, lol, I guess we’ll never know how to stop s31 now lmao whatever.

Anyway Extreme Measures is such squandered potential to me, and so jarring as the end of Julian’s character arc.

Is it just me or is 'Extreme Measures' weirdly glib?

Julian Bashir's playing Frankenstein games and Miles O'Brien is just kind of lollercoasters about it. This is a weird tonal shift. I don't think I like it.
